The 1960s and 1970s saw many automotive manufacturers vying to determine who was the top dog on the strip. The king of the hill changed hands many times, and to this day there is still debate over which manufacturer built the fastest cars. By the late 1980s, however, there was no confusion—you are looking at its exhaust system right here. The 1987 Buick GNX held that title, and there weren’t any other cars in the running. Buick and McLaren produced just 547 of these ground-pounding street fighters. Because of their extremely limited production, the unique exhaust system has long been out of production. GNX enthusiasts, you need not wait any longer. Gardner Exhaust is proud to introduce our newest reproduction exhaust system. . Our system has been reproduced from our original and comes complete back from the catalytic converter. The system comes as a kit with the correct 2 1/4″ y – pipe with wrinkles and correct flange welded on, correct resonator mufflers with correct flats and square seam, correct 2 1/4″ painted tail pipes with correct double angle cut, correct flat behind passenger tail pipe for clearance to spring, correct guillotine style clamps, installation diagrams and sealant. We have reproduced the correct brackets that were originally welded to the tail pipes however, due to the unique fitment of this exhaust system we have chosen to include them separately allowing the customer freedom of movement for final fitment.
