1965 Chevelle / SS Big Block Exhaust System Z-16

The 1965 Chevelle Z/16 is one of the first muscle cars ever built and has left an everlasting effect on the muscle car world. The Z-16 made use of a 396 motor and used 2 1/2″ head pipes and 2 1/4″ tail pipes. Our exhaust system Z-16 kits comes with the correct head pipes with wrinkles and flats and correct tail pipes with double angle cut. The kit will also include correct mufflers logo deleted, correct muffler hangers, clamps, screws, installation instructions, diagrams and sealant. tail pipe hangers are available as well as retainers and strap clamps for reproduction authenticity. Ask about our concourse package to bump up to corded rubber zinc plated hangers, ss clamps, ceramic coated flanges, retainers and strap clamps.

1965 Chevelle Z-16 Exhaust Kit

GM A Body Front Hanger

These hangers are correct for 1964-1972 GM A-Body Exhaust Systems They come standard with any of our GM A Body reproduction exhaus systems. We offer them zinc plated built with corded rubbers to simulate the original bias tire rubbers.

1964 - Chevelle Tail Pipe Hangers

These hangers are a reproduction of the orginal hangers used on the 1964 Chevelles and the 1965 Z-16 Chevelles. This hanger is a reproduction of an original and comes hand built with corded rubbers button head rivets, retainers, and correct screws for attaching to frame rail. Our hangers are zinc plated for longevity and are a Gardner Exhaust Exclusive reproduction.

1964 - 1972 GM A - Body Retainer

These retainers were used on the GM A - Body Muscle cars on the muffler hangers. The attaching screw first went through this reatiner and then through the rubber. The reatainer functioned as a washer to protect the rubber on the hanger. Our retainers have been reproduced from the orginal in the picture and come zinc plated. They are a Gardner EXhaust exclusive reproduction and come standard with our concours show pkg. or can be optioned for with one of our entire systems.

1965 GM 2 1/4" Strap Clamp

This strap clamp was used on many of the GM - A Body Muscle Cars. It was used to attach the tail pipes to the tail pipe hangers. Our strap clamps have been reproduced from an original and come zinc plated with the correct sheet metal screw. They come standard with our concours show pkg. or can be optioned with one of our entire systems.

1965 - 1971 Chevy BB Heat Riser

This is the correct Big Block Heat Riser for the 1965 - 1971 Chevy's. It is an option with any of our Chevy systems and comes with the correct gasket.

1956 - 1974 Chevy Stud Kit

This is the correct stud kit for the 1957-1972 Chevys. This stud kit has the correct dog point on the studs and uses the correct stove nuts as original. This kit is available with any of our Chevy systems.

1962 - 1972 Extensions

These are the correct Chevy extensions and donut gaskets that were used in the head pipes of every chevy from 1957 up until 1972. They come as part of any Gardner Exhaust Chevy Kit

Sealant

Originally a clear silicon sealant was used in all the joint to joint connections on most exhaust systems. This was referred to as "grease" in the assembly manual but it was a clear sealant like the one pictured here. After analyzing original samples off our pipes and searching incessantly we came up with a match with the seaman pictured here. This sealant comes as part of any Gardner Exhaust Kit
