1970 Corvette Corvette Big Block

The 1970 Corvette Big Block consisted of 2 1/2″ front pipes and rear pipes” 2″ outlet mufflers with chrome extensions. Our reproduction Big Block Corvette exhaust system comes with the correct front pipes with correct flats on left hand side, correct rear pipes with wrinkles, correct flanges, extensions, donuts, sealant, guillotine clamps, mufflers, installation instructions and diagrams. Reproduction center hanger and muffler hangers are available as well as heat riser and stud kit. Our system comes with flats and wrinkles in rear pipes as original and guillotine clamps for center exhaust hanger but opened style clamps for tips. Ask about our concourse show package for the hobbiest who can’t stand surface rust.

Although this hanger is not one of our reproductions it is an excellent reproduction of the original hanger and we offer it with no apprehension.

The hangers we offer for this application are the correct GM replacement hangers. They come with the correct screws and attaching hardware. They can be compared to the orgiinals at the lower right of the the accompanying picture

Corvette Heat Riser

This is the correct big block heat riser for the 1965 - 1972 big block corvettes. Our heat risers come with the correct Corvette big block gasket. Our heat risers are available with any of our heat risers are available with any of our 1965 to 1973 corvette big block exhaust systems.

Chevy Stud Kit

1970 - 1971 Corvette Tips

Although these tips are not our own reproduction we have compared them to originals and they are a very nice reproduction. They are chrome platedd as original and come with the correct notch on the top of the tip. These tips were used on all the 1970 corvettes and a portion of the 1971's. They are available with either of these systems.

Sealant

Originally a clear silicon sealant was used in all the joint to joint connections on most exhaust systems. This was referred to as "grease" in the assembly manual but it was a clear sealant like the one pictured here. After analyzing original samples off our pipes and searching incessantly we came up with a match with the sealant pictured here. This sealant comes as part of any Gardner Exhaust Kit
