1968 Nova Exhaust System

The 1968 Nova dual exhaust system consisted of 2 1/4″ head pipes on both the big block and the small block cars. The small block cars had the pipes necked down to 2″ at the manifold while the big blocks were expanded up to 2 1/2″. Both systems used 2 1/4″ over the axle pipes and tail pipes ending behind the rear wheels resonators may have been used on the small block cars.. Our system comes reproduced from originals and includes the correct head pipes with wrinkle bends, correct over the axle pipes, correct tail pipes with oval shaped angle cut, extensions, donuts, correct rounded bottom clamps, and guillotine clamps, correct tail pipe hangers, installation instructions diagrams and sealant. Our reproduction muffler hangers are available with one of our kits and once again we are the only company reproducing this particular piece. 1968 -1972 Nova Front Hanger:

The 1968 -1972 dual exhaust Novas used unique front exhaust hangers pictured here. These hangers are no longer available. If you are lucky enough to come up with a used pair, they probably would look something like these originals. Our reproduction hangers come in a pair zinc plated with corded rubbers, correct screws, and correct size rivets and backing plates. These hangers are available with one of our concours 1968 -1972 Nova Exhaust Systems.

1968 Nova Tail Hangers:

The hangers pictured here are another Gardner Exhaust Exclusive Reproduction. Original hangers used backing plates, smaller rivets and corded rubbers and were mirror images of one another. Our exclusive hangers are built by hand to replicate the originals

1968 Nova Strap Clamp

This is the correct strap clamp that was originally used to attach the tail pipes to the tail pipe hangers. They come zinc plated to aid in longevity and have been reproduced from the original next to it.

1967 - 1972 Nova Exhaust Clamp

This is the exact correct clamp for the 1967-1972 Novas. They were used in multiple locations and have been unavailable for many years. They are a Gardner Exhaust esclusive reproduction and are avalable in 2" and 2 1'4" versions. These clamps are available with one of our show quality exhaust systems.

1968 - 1972 Nova Exhaust Clamp

This is the exact correct clamp for the 1968-72 Novas. This clamp was used at the muffler inlet. The clamp seen here has not been available for a very long time. It is another Gardner Exlclusive reproduction and is availble with one of our show quality exhaust systems.

Sealant

Originally a clear silicon sealant was used in all the joint to joint connections on most exhaust systems. This was referred to as "grease" in the assembly manual but it was a clear sealant like the one pictured here. After analyzing original samples off our pipes and searching incessantly we came up with a match with the sealant pictured here. This sealant comes as part of any Gardner Exhaust Kit
